The Engagement!

Now that I am finished being too lazy, I am regretting having ignored the blog for so long so I am resolving not to miss even a day of post in November but obviously that is not possible :D See, I already missed the month's start! But, lets hope for the best :) So, let me talk about the engagement. This is gonna be probably the 10th or more narration of the event so bear with me :D

So, I am officially engaged! I have no idea how am I supposed to feel but I guess I was expecting the sky to burst open or the roof to fall on my head. But, I have to say it was pouring like cats and dogs that day so guess the sky did burst open :D

Otherwise, it was full of an eventful weekend comparing to which the regular life pales! I have forgotten how it is to work or how it feels to blog. I seriously need to get back to blogging but somehow I am just not able to :( Anyways, let me not digress.

So, as soon as I landed in Vizag (Visakhapatnam), my mom took me to jeweler for the ring selection. Well, as usual, the choices were too limited. But, still, I did get a decent and unusual ring just a size bigger to mine so it fits at least. The next morning me and my dad went for shopping and we did the gadbad. Well, not exactly me but dad :D

Anyways, that's a different part. But, the actual day was so like a dream right from getting up at 5 in the morning to getting dressed and being draped in a saree to sitting for makeup without fidgeting, man....how do you really manage it?, to getting my hair braided with extensions to getting into those 2-3 inch sandals on a wet floor...damn...it was really hard!

There were definitely a lot of things that went wrong but my recently married friend had already advised me that there would be things which you wouldn't find at the last moment, things are bound to go wrong but do not panic, everything will go alright. And, trust me, this is the only tip I will give to anyone over there. You have to stay positive and be radiant instead of being stressed and that is the key to beautiful pictures :D

So, back to the ceremony, there were pujas and ring exchange and breakfast and my SIL and her father gave a performance (they are celebrated singers and they are soooooo good) and then we played housie and dumb-charades and finally a bit of DJ. And, having a large and boisterous family helps with it all and fortunately the lunch was awesome as well :) All in all a very tiring and a fun-filled day.

I wore two sarees. I was supposed to change into the saree the in-laws would gift me later on after the pujas were over. Will show you the sarees soon :) See ya till then!
