Love Thy Self {Beauty Philosophy}

This is a new series I am starting for the benefit of everyone including myself. I have never really written about the philosophy involved in beauty, the societal rules and how it affects a person on a mental level. So, let's start with the first lesson. Most of it might be repetitive so forgive me in case you get bored!!

Love your Skin
There is a psychological clock in our body which affects it in numerous ways and always gives reactions which are least desired. Well, do you remember the Newtonian law of everything has equal and opposite reaction? No, don't worry, I am not starting science classes but actually this law holds in real life as well and not only on objects.

If you are obsessed about your weight, you find yourself constantly increasing. If you keep complaining about hair, you will find it breaking. If you simply hate your skin, it will keep on sagging. And, if you hate yourself, your vibrations or aura is automatically negatively charged. So, love yourself for whatever you are!!

Here, I should probably mention about a mail from one of the readers to whom I have not yet replied even after promising and yes, you can totally hate me for that!! I am so sorry if you are reading it. And, her grudge was that she wanted to kill herself because of her skin issues.

Ok, granted that she might have exaggerated a bit but its true that a less than perfect self (forming unrealistic expectations) does affect us or our minds and souls in a strange way and that can go deep down. So, if you really care for my opinion, please chuck all such negativity out of your system coz nothing good has come out of it and draw inspiration from people who are worse off than you and are still happy.

I do that and yes, it does inspire me as well to live better because struggles are a part and parcel of life and skin and hair issues can be considered least of anyone's worries if you really consider the real life problems which people actually go through. So, chill out and look at the bigger picture. Not obsessing on any issue does give a clearer outlook and helps dealing with the problem in a better way.
What do you think?

Its Just Life Vol. 1 - Are you really happy?

So, writing about life is a kind of stress buster for me but it is not something which I can do on a daily basis. I had started my other blog for this sole purpose but unfortunately, I am not able to maintain it so I thought I might as well start a series here! Hope you guys like the diversity and respond to it positively. And, also, please note that I am not very experienced in putting my feelings into words, it can all sound very muddled :D

So, once upon a time in my life, I went to this astrologer! Trust me, don't ever make that mistake in your life. I hate the entire breed and worst part, you can never say no to relatives so you end up having no choice! And, this guy astrologer observes me for quite sometime.

And, then, the first thing he ends up asking me was "Are you Happy?" I have always thought myself to be a pretty much happy-to-go-lucky kinda gal so I very happily answer yes as if it is foolish to doubt such a thing! And, the interrogation carries on. How do you know a person is happy?

I say a happy person has a very positive and vibrant aura. Ok, yup, a very heavy answer. He was like yes, the person smiles a lot which you were not all the while I observed you. I was stunned. There was quite a lot of truth in that. I had been under a lot of stress lately.

And, since that day, I have always been trying to be consciously aware of whether I am frowning a lot, am under a lot of stress or worrying about unnecessary things!

So, Are YOU REALLY Happy?

Just Gossip Vol. 16 - How is 2013 treating you?

So, this is almost the middle of the year! Gosh, it flew by so quickly or rather it is flying by so quickly and there have been an insane amount of changes in my life, nothing major but essential.

What about you? How is your life treating you? You are sad, happy, bitter, exhilarated?

I just wanted to remind you on the project we had started at the start of this year - the New Year Project! Are you keeping track of how the year is proceeding? I should have kept it as a monthly journal, I realized that just now but then better late than never :)

So, till now the year has treated me in all ways possible! But, some of the major things I have realized this year or late last year was that I love writing. I wrote my first short story few months back and I did pen down another piece. Also, I went to North-East for the first time in my life and my start-of-year travel has been amazing! I can live it day in day out in my mind. And, then, job is good this year (at least better than the last) and I am more introspective. And, best of all, I turned 27 and I can see myself changing everyday in some or the other way for the good!!

Oh btw, I found this really inspiring and interesting article about what things you should accomplish in your 20's. Do check it out. Its amazing and I am sure you are gonna love it!

Also, do let me know how you are doing. You do not have to share anything if it is too personal but a general comment is just more than enough!

Share in comments below what special you have done in this new year, what things have inspired you and if you have moved a little closer to realizing what you want to do! Or, may be you have joined those dance classes you always wanted to or lost the weight you were aiming for!

Its Just Life Vol. 4 - Let us Uncomplicate!

quote on life

So, if you have read my blogging goals for the current year, you would already know that professional blogging has made my life pretty complicated!! I have lost the focus on blogging by becoming a full time blogger. The focus had shifted to making the blog self-sustainable. And, reading a whole lot about it became just too much for me!

It was like being bombarded by do this and do that and this would not work and that would not work. You know internet is a pretty negative place if you really do not know what you want!

This entire exercise made me lose interest in writing! And, that was BAD. You should really be selective about what information you consume. Let's start!

1. Clear Your Mind

You really need to be selective about what you let sit in your mind. There is so much of everything happening around and you really can not help thinking about everything. So, chuck everything from your mind.

If you have ever worked in any company, you would know that quite a lot of people prefer freshers. No, not because of lesser salary but because of lesser experience. A mind with a clean slate can be moulded in anyway you want. Where as a mind with certain principles of its own will never react the way you want it to.

The same principle works here as well. The assumptions you make, the impressions on your mind, the thoughts you have, everything leaves your mind in a turmoil. And, when this gets too much, generally in the cases of a lot of emotional drama in your life, you tend to feel insane!

A good step to avoid such situations is to clear your mind. Stay away from the things which disturb you. And, if that is not possible, create situations which help you stay away.

For example, when staying at home became too much for me to bear, I started staying back longer in the office. I have always been a girl who loves to go home as early as possible but this step made my life simpler!

This is just an example but you get the idea so work on it!

2. Work on your Body!

As important as it is to keep your mind calm, it is equally important to keep your body fit. More exercise means more endorphins which are happiness hormones. So, you stay happy, irrespective of the situations! And, it builds your confidence and self-esteem. So, yes, work out or take it gradually - go for a walk daily!

3. Focus on what is important and discard everything else!

This is more or less a variant of #1. But, what I want to say here is that always prioritize what you want. Think of the larger picture, not of today but one year down the line then five years down the line and then about how you want your whole life to be. And, work towards that goal.

Remove the negative thoughts which hamper your ability and productivity. Remove all the drama which involves you. Avoid situations or simply walk out. Do what you think is best!! But, make sure you are not travelling in two boats at the same time. That will make your life worse. So, have one goal and travel only in one boat towards that goal.

For example, I want to build this blog. I did not want to work so I left my job. You bet everyday I listen so much from everyone and yes it is quite depressing sometimes. But, then, when I think about the blog, nothing else matters! Yes, there are other goals but my primary goal is blogging and I shall achieve other goals through this.
Watch out for every depressing thought.

Few days back, I received an email from one of the reader's who asked me to write about emotional health. So, this is a trial from my side on the topic. I am trying to align the series to my moods so that it is easy for me to pen them down. Hope you like it!!

Now, I am feeling overwhelmed so let me just practice these three tips for the week and I shall get back to you with new ones sometime next week. And, do not forget to share what do you think of these new series? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Just Gossip Vol. 40 - Happy New Year and 10 things to dump!

Tags : Home >> Just Gossip

Good Morning Everyone! So, how is the New Year morning agreeing with you so far? Or, are you still asleep with the hangover? Wish you all a very Happy, prosperous and exploratory year ahead!!

In the spirit with the new year, I had been meaning to do a post tagged #dump10things since quite long. So, finally, here it is - list of 10 things I would like to get rid of at the verge of this transition from the old to new. Do check out my list and do not forget to share yours in the comments below!!

#1 - Old Grudges

High time to let go of the extra baggage with which we all have been burdening ourselves. If a thing can be solved, solve it. If not, just let it go.

#2 - Taking relationships and people for Granted

This is something we all do some or the other time, intentionally or unintentionally. No, that is not absolutely acceptable. I would hate it if someone would just take me for a ride and so would you so why do it to someone else, right?

#3 - Temper

Oh hello, my old friend. I do think it is time to let you go and a new friend, Patience, to welcome in my life. Short temper not only harms your relationships but also your health so beware!

#4 - Laziness

Well, I love a sedentary lifestyle but is it really that good for us all? Do you know it is one of the cardinal sins to be a sloth and not use yourself to the best of your ability. While I would not say slog it out, I would say not to lie around. But, I do love it so :D

#5 - Procastination

This is a natural progression from laziness. So, next time you have a thing on your To Do list, do not keep on adding it at the bottom. In fact, finish the task which you are most likely to procrastinate first and you will feel good about it!

#6 - Ignoring yourself

A rule of thumb is that you can never take care of others unless you take care of yourself. So, follow the adage and prioritize yourself. Take 15 minutes off from the day and just pamper yourself. Go for a walk, meditate, head for the salon or simply sit with your thoughts.

#7 - Leading an Unhealthy Life

While laziness is more or less responsible for this point, I would also stress that bad daily routines and unhealthy habits does lead to a lot of laziness as well. You can see that it is a never ending cycle. So, break it now and start it slow!

#8 - Fear

Afraid of heights? Or, afraid of discovering more about yourself? Pick whichever fear is more closer to you and work on it. Travel, write, do whatever you have been thinking you want to do but have been hesitant about it. Nothing will happen unless you get your hands dirty. My boss used to say show me the dirt!

#9 - Negativity

Well, this is one thing which seeps your entire energy and spirit and kills you from inside. So, chuck this out first. Be optimistic and value your assets. In most of the situations, you are more likely to have nothing to lose. So, think about it whenever you are negative about anything.

#10 - Not Travelling

This one is close to my heart. I love to travel and I love to travel locally as opposed to touristy. So, yup, I would love to get a chance to go and travel the world. High on my list are Norway and Iceland. I am just dying to go there.

So, these are my list of 10 things which I would love to improve upon in this course of the new year and soon make changes for my and my family's good. Now that you have read my list, do not forget to share yours in the comments below. Remember, I am waiting!!
