How often do you skip on your skin and hair care routines? {Your Opinion}

Hey Everyone!! I know I have been doing a lot of on and off and I am pretty sure many of you must have really given up on me. Now that I have got the two posts which have been long pending from my way, I can talk a bit of here and there!!

So, last three months have been a whirlwind of changes and the entire August went in pujas and saree tying exercises. I did more of saree tying than the puja :D Gosh, it is so difficult to be a newly wed.

Anyways, tomorrow will be an entire year since I have stopped answering to comments. So, that is one of the first things on my to-do list and I am really sorry for ignoring you all for this long. Honestly, coming back to blogging after such a long break is very very difficult. So, let me just say give me some time to settle down.

And, let me talk about how I love to skip my daily routine of skin and hair care. Unless I have some product to review, I have to literally force myself to apply even a face moisturizer.

Do you love to skip on your skin and hair routines like me or are you really diligent about your personal grooming?

Nivea Whitening Smooth Skin Deodorant {Product Review}

Nivea Whitening Smooth Skin Deodrant {Product Review}

I am really not much of a fan of deos. Its not like I use perfume but I sure as hell prefer them over deos. In fact, any recommendation for the perfumes would be welcome :) Any inputs on Chanel No. 5???

Anyways, reviewing a deodrant has to be the most difficult and awkward thing! So, what should I start with? Ok, the deo does last decently long upto 4-5 hours and another whiff and you are good to go.

Pros
lasts 4-5 hours
does give a refreshing feeling

Now, I have a very weird habit of putting the deo on the clothes instead of the bare skin. Well, honestly, somehow the deos sting my skin unless I spray them from a mile away so I did check out if the deo stains the clothes or not.

Well, in most cases it did not but then it actually did stain my black tee which was bad. Needless to say, it was not a long term stain. It got washed away. So, I do use it carefully.

How does it smell? Guess my olfactory senses become numb I guess when encountered with a deo :D They all really smell the same to me and in a good way. Nothing offensive, just the regular thing.

Also, yes, I do not know about the fairness and whitening claims because I do not have dark underarms for one and I have not directly used it on my underarms for other. But, yes, its worth a try!!

Price: Rs 199

Loving / Using It Vol. 6 - Vaadi Herbals Chandan Kesar Haldi Face Pack

Vaadi Herbals Chandan Kesar Haldi Face Pack

If I have to compile a list of products I would like to use, face pack would generally rank at the bottom. I am restless and keeping on a thick layer of mask on my face sans the specs is really difficult for me coz I can really not do anything else in that time.

So, reviewing this was a lot easier. In fact, while using this product, I did not use anything except for a face wash and sometimes used to skimp on the moisturizer as well. So, let us get on with how this product performed on me!!

Loving / Using It : Using It

Vaadi Herbals Chandan Kesar Haldi Face Pack
  • Price. Rs 90
  • Easy to Apply. The product is light in consistency and texture so spreads easily on the skin. Always apply masks on a slightly damp skin. Water helps absorb the products. But, as always, clay products are best removed just before they are completely dry.
  • Brightens the Skin. Instantly brightens and leaves the skin soft after removal. No stretchy feeling. Regarding absorption of oil on the skin, I am not sure how much it is effective as I had dry skin this time. The results last only for a day or two depending on your exposure to sun and pollution.
  • Ingredient List not specified. Like the cuticle oil, the ingredient list is missing.

Overall Verdict
It is worth one try and probably can be used almost everyday.

What's the best compliment you ever got?

I just wanted to relate a small incident which happened today. My father has come to Hyderabad today for a few days. So, we were hungry in the evening so after much discussion, we settled on maggi and tea. Mom didn't come so all the cooking obviously fell on me!! And, before proceeding, I am not a cook at all. In fact, I don't know how to!!

So, I prepared tea and maggi. And, I was skceptical if dad would like it at all or not. And, you know what dad said? He said the tea I made reminded him of the tea he used to have when he was 12-13!!! My mom is a damn good cook and I always wish to be like her. And, this was the best compliment of my life :) Oh btw, do try sunfeast yipee. I find it better than maggi!!

Waiting to hear your best compliment till date :)

My Skin Diary - August 2013

Gosh...its unbelievable how this year is just flying by! I hate it and love it at the same time. Anyways, my skin was not behaving very well this month. I don't know why but I did get an issue of lot of small bumps on the skin and by small, I mean very very small. You can just see that the skin is not looking smooth.

You will ask me if I did anything for it. Well, honestly, I did nothing specifically. My best guess is that it was because I did not use sunscreen. But then, this month I have cut some serious slack with sunscreen and those boils did not come later on when I stopped using sunscreen again.

So, may be the answer just boils down to maintenance. I have not been looking after my skin very seriously. I do tend to take it a bit for granted because my skin is, touchwood, really good. Thanks to my genes and no credits to me. But, I would reiterate the fact that howsoever good your skin might be, do not ever forget taking care of it.

  • Cleansing Milk - Garnier + Mustard Oil
  • Face wash - Nivea Visage Refreshing Face Wash + Olay Total Face Cleanup
  • Toner - Liz Earle + Kama Ayurveda Vetiver Water
  • Moisturizer - Rustic Art aloevera gel
  • Facial Oil - Turmeric infused Almond Oil + Primrose Oil
So, I have to say here that the turmeric infused oil is working really well on reducing the breakout size for me. A few days back I had a bad case on my neck. I think I accidentally scratched my skin in sleep and it was an angry breakout whose size had reduced to half and 1/3rd the night and night after respectively on using the oil. So, yes, I would definitely encourage you to try it out.

My skin picking habit has left my neck tortured as I had mentioned earlier as well so I am STILL looking forward to reversing that damage and containing my habit. Do you have any advises?

How did your skin fare in August? What were the products you loved and hated?

Loving / Using It Vol. 5 - Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Hey Guys!! I know I have been absconding for too long now. In fact, it has been almost one year since I have been more or less ignoring the blog :( But, last three months have been a roller coaster ride with way too many changes in my routine! Will share all the details slowly with you.

And, in all of that mess, I totally ignored my responsibilities. This review has been so long pending that I am sure the brand people would have given up on me. But, I have been using this product since last two months. It is so portable, for one. So, lets check out why I like it.

Loving / Using It : Loving It

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil
  • Price. Rs 55 for 10ml. Extremely affordable.
  • Travel-friendly. You can carry it in your travel bag or purse wherever you go and apply it whenever you want!! It does not even leak.
  • Easy to Use. Its roller tip makes it extremely easy to use and ensures a topical application.
  • Not Oily. It gets absorbed easily and does not leave any greasiness behind.
  • Smells fresh. Leaves behind a very refreshing lemongrass aroma.
  • Moisturizes really well. This product made my cuticles and nails so soft as opposed to any body cream I have used regularly. It also prevents the skin near the nails from peeling off.
  • Multi-purpose. The best part of this product is that you can use it for anything -  a hand cream or as a lip balm or even as an emergency moisturizer.
  • Ingredient List not specified. The one thing which I did not appreciate is that there is no list of ingredients written on the packaging. It only provides the active ingredient list.
Overall Verdict
I wish the brand had provided the entire ingredient list so as to make sure whether the product is completely herbal or not. But, the product is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
