Just Gossip Vol. 25 - The Year 2013!

So, this was a roller coaster year! It has been quite an eventful year after a very long dull phase in the life and it had started at good note. So, here are a few countdowns on what I did and learned this year! Some random jottings.
  1. I traveled a lot - Guwahati, Kharagpur, Jim Corbett, Singapore, Podgatlapalli (which is a village in AP, even I can not pronounce it).
  2. I got married. Well, obviously!
  3. I wrote a short story which was well-received to whomsoever I passed it :)
  4. I was more positive and optimistic this year.
  5. I stuck to the exercise regime more stringently this year.
  6. I am more confident with my flaws.
  7. I know that compromise happens only when we let it happen.
  8. Dream on and know what you want and you will get it.
  9. Patience is very very important.
  10. I made my own bed for the first time - the double bed!!
  11. I actually catered to some of the relative guests who came to the house. I had never done that at my house - always left it to the super-mom.
  12. I have new appreciation for whatever my mom does for the house.
  13. I have realized it this year that how uncannily I copy my mum's methods in everything. (This I had realized before marriage only!)
  14. I actually had a bath and not in a bathroom!! Well, yea, the village I am talking did not have bathroom. Yikes, I know! I had to use 2-3 bed sheets to make a make-shift bathroom and took bath, that too head-bath! My cousins did help, of course!
  15. I planned a trip (Singapore) and it was more or less successful so I get to do more of them :D Have to see where I am heading next!
  16. Negativity comes far too easily and it is very easy to complain and to resist is a bitch!!
  17. I love jewelery but do not like being told what to wear and what not! Come to that matter, I do not like being told anything by anyone else!!
  18. I am usually a good judge of people but its good to not judge anytime.
  19. I want to read more.
  20. Confusion is a state of mind I totally hate! Oh yeah, I am perpetually confused.
  21. Your health is very very important. Do not compromise on it or take it for granted even for a single day!
  22. I hate local commute. I love staying close to workplace.
  23. Regular exercise is very important.
  24. It is good to explore the wider horizons of life than being curled up in monotony.
  25. You are not the same person you were when you read point 24. Yes, I mean you are changing every single second of the day. You are not what you were a minute before. You are evolving and it is ok. Do not be afraid of it. Accept it and love it and enjoy it.
  26. Talk to older people. They can teach you a lot!! Talk to younger people. You will learn a lot.
  27. Save before you spend.
  28. Love your body as it is and it will mould to how you want!!
  29. Get a body massage at a good place. It can be a lifetime experience.
  30. Roller-coaster rides were and will never be my cup of tea!! For all those who went to universal studios mummy ride, how was it?? I was parched and I got a crick in the neck and my heart was in my mouth.
And, THE SECRET - Whatever you believe in will come true. Nothing else matters. So, always think good and dream on.

Just Gossip Vol. 5 - New Year and New Resolutions on the Beauty and Blogging Sector

So, today is the last day of the year and since we made it through the apocalypse without any harm to Earth or its infrastructure, we should congratulate ourselves. And, welcome the new year with even more gusto. That calls for an introspection of what it means to die.

Anyways. So, here is saying good bye to 2012 which has definitely taught me a lot of things but I am not able to recall anything of importance right away to share with you. So, let's see what I am planning for next year.

My Blogging Resolutions for 2013
  • I shall try to blog regularly on the weekdays on both of my blogs, public holidays included :D
  • On a personal front, I would like to learn 12 new things this year and that would be different from the things we learn daily in life. I hope I am able to reach half of this goal :)
    • Ok, so, this thing has been going on for some days and I want to announce my other blog in another niche. Its all about inspired living and its different. Its about life and relationships and all other things which I observe and write about. Since I have only started it on 12th December, I am kind of skeptical and would love your opinions on it. So, if you are interested, please go ahead and check out. The blog is Moments and Seconds :) Honestly, its not easy to write it but I am persevering!!
I am not really able to think of any more!! Any advises???

      What I realized in 2012
      • I was very shy to apply lip balms in front of others but now I give a damn to anyone who has time enough to stare at me. Yay! And, thanks to Roshni for this :)
      • I realized that I love red color in my footwear!! I got new floaters in red and I am loving them. I have to thank one very special person in my life for this :)
      • And, I also realized that howsoever much I might love colors, I would always stick to monochrome. I am more utilitarian in my tastes as compared to artistic. And, when I try to become artistic, things don't get better :(
      • I had realized this long back but I don't only have two left feet but two left hands as well :D I can't carry lot of things in my hands so I need a huge sling bag or backpack instead of a trendy handbag!!
      • I should read more books because it helps me think better and improves my perspicacity of things! Oh no, not self-helps one or the non-fiction types!!
And, this is adieus to 2012. And, I realize I am an year older which makes me sad as well as happy!! See you folks in the new year :) Have a blast and wish you all a very very happy and prosperous new year!!

Are you keeping any resolutions??? Do share. I am dying to know :)

Its Just Life Vol. 3 - Not all things happen for the good!!

Or, may be they do. Only we are too short-sighted to understand the play of universe!! Well, ok, I am going to be a little morbid on the second last day of the year. For tomorrow, I am reserving a personal post - the highs and lows of this year!! But, before that I wanted to talk about an unfortunate event that took place in my friend's life!!

Well, few months back, I think I did talk about my friend's fear of the baby's heart not being audible! The same friend had to undergo a C-section last Sunday due to some viral infection and increase in platelet count. And, she had just entered the seventh month or probably in the middle of it. So, the baby was really tiny and was kept in the incubator but unfortunately he could not survive beyond a week.

How awful it can be is something which I can not even begin to fathom. In fact, this was quite a turn in my life coz I never really had to go to give condolences to anyone, not even my mom and dad for that matter when their loved ones passed away. Till date, I have been really affected only by two deaths - one is my grandfather's and later one of my friend's mom passed away due to cancer!!

And, coming back to the topic of my friend's loss, when I conveyed this message to one of our colleagues who is an elder person, what she said was something very profound. She said whatever happened, it happened for the good. My friend was not really ready and the baby came unexpectedly and there are too many problems in her life to have a baby at her hands. In a way if I am look at the circumstances, this might be right as well but somehow you can never really console yourself to the bereavement of a life!! Who said everything happens for the good?

      Pain or Gain??

Let me tell you how I managed to get rid of his really sexy stubble!! One day, he, himself, provided me with the time and occasion to teach him a lesson.

Mr. Husband (calls from the office) : Hey Sweetheart!! How are you doing? Are you too tired from the day? Or, you ready to go on a date?

Me (just back from office and sipping tea watching Mr. Bond, isn't he all cleaned up and sexy??) : What?? Date? What's so special today?

Mr. Husband (reddening on the other side): Uhh...I thought you would like us to go out more often! And, I am getting free early so I thought I might as well use the evening.

Me (smiling to myself for the flattery which comes so un-often!) : Yeah, stop making puppy faces! I can recognize it on the phone, as well. Fine, I shall be ready. Where are we going?

Mr. Husband (brimming with male pride and something else as well) : Well, let that be a surprise, Darling!

Me (raising an eyebrow) : Well, ohk! Make sure you come back on time or you are going to stay out of the house for the next week. You know the drill already!

Mr. Husband (winking naughtily) : Yeah, sure! We shall see how you keep me out.

And, then, I decided to pamper myself and to dress to kill. I have to admit what ever faults my husband has, he is a busy man and his effort to take out time for an unplanned date must have been going on for months in his head. But, he also has a downside and that's the habit I wanted him to get rid of.

I had to make full use of this occasion to get what I wanted and I had hit on the perfect strategy. Remember, who waits patiently often gets what he wants. And, almost after an hour, bingo, he was back on time for dinner. Sure, that was surprising!

Mr. Husband : See, I came back on time. And, wow, you are looking so amazing!

Me : Good for you. Now, go and get ready!

Mr. Husband: What, why??? I am looking fine.

Me (talking sexily) : Well, if I am looking so sexy, I want my husband to look equally awesome, right?? Please get ready for me.

Mr. Husband : Come on, you know your husband is sexy enough to make women drool on him even when tired from a day at office. I shall just refresh myself and then we shall leave.

I give up!! I know him. No, he is not the one to think about his looks but he definitely is lazy enough to not bother with all the frivolities. I wish I could make him realize that how I wanted him to make special efforts to get ready. No, its not for someone else but for us.

But, some things just don't enter a man's head. Anyways, he was ready after like 20 minutes. And, boy, he does look awesome even with that sexy stubble. I could kiss him right away and forgo the date for dessert *naughty wink*.

So, we went out for our date and had really amazing food in one of the most romantic ambiances of the city. And, I knew that the night was going to be really special and steamy. I was already feeling guilty for spoiling it. But, I had to do it.

After dinner, we went to our special place and had the most amazing desserts and relived our dating days. We had not talked like this for few months now and now we felt as if time had turned back.

We went back. Kissing started right as we locked our main door and the bed wasn't exactly far enough. Everything was perfect and I wanted it to go that way.

He has a strange fascination to my feet and he always kisses them. Yes, it makes me feel special but, today, I was not feeling so special coz I knew that in sometime our night would be ruined.

He kissed my toes and then heels and then the ankle and then started towards the calf muscles from the shin bones.

And, suddenly, something stung his lips. Ooh...they are really soft. I love kissing them and I felt, instantly, I should pull him back. But, it was too late. He tries kissing my legs again and again it stung his lips.

He said you have ants on your body and that made me burst out laughing. I was like are you crazy? He was like something stung me on my lips. He tries again and same thing. He switched on the light. And, there it was - the moment of truth.

Mr. Husband : You didn't shave??

Me (guiltily) : Yeah, I didn't have time so I thought I would leave it like that. And, you always keeps on saying its sexy so I thought you wouldn't mind.

Mr. Husband (bursts out laughing) : You didn't think anything like that. I know why you did it. You don't like my stubble so you wanted revenge, right? Fine, I am sorry but you know its really tiring to shave and get ready and then again go out. I am sorry.

Me : I know but I wish you would make some effort for these special days. And, I couldn't think of any other way to pass you the message.

Mr. Husband : Well, I totally loved the way you passed the message. And, the night continues...

And, we lived happily ever after. Yup, that was the end to all my woes. Ok, not all times but he did make some efforts at some special times and I was just glad for that. And, his stubble is there on all the other days which I don't find particularly annoying. How did you make your man get rid of that habit?

Just Gossip Vol. 4 - Changes in my Lifestyle!

Since I mentioned about my yoga classes, I thought I would also make a list of the lifestyle changes it has brought in me which I am totally loving!! Now, I am less on junk and more on fibre. But, its just not the result of yoga alone but a combination of many other things.

      No Snacks
Earlier, I used to prepare some maggi or something coz I feel hungry in the evenings. And, a healthier option takes a lot of time to prepare. But, since my yoga classes are from 6 to 7, I have to make sure I don't eat anything for at least an hour or two before.

That helps with skipping all the junk I would get into my system in the evenings generally. I have stopped having samosas or golgappas or any such things. At max, I have a glass of milk at around 7:45 or something after having a bath in the evening.

      More Fruits
A guy in our workplace goes every Wednesday to the farmer's market nearby and gets fruits and veggies. So, he started asking us out and whenever one of the people from here go, I do ask them to get some fruits. This has been a new development in the last two weeks.

So, I have been having a lot of oranges this week and last. I do have pomegranates as well but since they take a bit more of work, they are just sitting in my room waiting for their turn. I shall definitely finish them this weekend.

      Herbal Tea and Less Sugar
Earlier, we used to have the regular tea in my workplace because the herbal tea option was missing and I had been planning since quite long to skip the tea which wasn't really easy. I do need something or the other to drink.

So, a few days back, we bought a new pantry for ourselves which includes a lot of herbal teas. Now, I am hooked up to herbal teas. But, there is one downside to this situation. We have coffee as well and its pretty decent so I am unable to resist the temptation ;)

      5 reasons you might not be sleeping well {Five Series}

So, when I was in Delhi, I wasn't really sleeping well. Yup, it happens because my dad disturbs me a lot :D Nah, its actually that he gets up at very odd times and he either snores heavily or his nasal tract problem wakes me up. I always keep on wondering how mom is able to sleep.

When I caught cold, my nose was giving me issues and one day I developed some allergy suddenly due to which I had bad itching and the whole skin was turning red and covered with bumps. So, all these things one after another culminated in not so comfortable sleeping patterns.

So, I sat down and listed some possible reasons apart from disturbances which might hamper the regular sleep process and they are very simple. They are all day to day habits which we wither ignore or take for granted. Sometimes it also happens that we do sleep but when we get up we don't feel refreshed. Why?

      Light
Yup, this is the biggest issue. You should sleep in total darkness because even a flicker of light is caught by the eyes and that interferes with the deep sleep processes. So, one of the alternatives is to use a sleeping mask so that even if there is a bed light on, it shouldn't disturb the sleep.

Body is not too tired or IS TOO TIRED
So, yup, this is one of the most common reasons why you do not sleep well. Not doing enough work in a day or making your body too much work that it aches makes the sleep disturbed.

Because, if the body is too tired, a comfortable sleeping position is not reached. And, if it is not tired at all, again the body's clock doesn't work properly.

      Room Temperature not Comfortable
If the temperature of the room is too hot or too cold, the body is in an uncomfortable position. Also, remember that the body temperature drops in sleep by around 1 or 2 degrees to preserve energy. Also, using too many blankets or too less blankets also makes a difference.

Reading an interesting Book or watching something disturbing just before sleeping
When we sleep, whatever we think just before sleeping often has a lot of role in dreams or brain activity after we sleep. If it is something very interesting or very disturbing, the body never enters the deep state of sleep and remains in a lucid state the entire night.

      Dependence on Alarm Clocks
Well, this is probably the most difficult habit to get rid of. But, unfortunately, this is one of the reasons why you might not wake up refreshed. Alarm clock doesn't interfere with sleep process but it interferes with the natural waking process.

Human body is supposed to fall asleep with the dark and wake up with the first ray of sunlight hitting the body. That is why, generally, it is advised to wake up early in the morning. And, if you keep your room sufficiently ventilated, you would find that you do wake up when the sunlight hits your bedroom.

But, due to the disturbed lifestyles, one hardly sleeps till it is late at night and when the alarm clock rings just near the ear in the morning without giving you adequate sleep, it leaves you feeling dizzy and heavy. Also, sometimes, body keeps awake in the anticipation of the alarm ring subconsciously!

So, what do you think are the reasons one might not sleep well?

Just Gossip Vol. 3 - My Yoga Classes and changes in my Body!

So, why I have not been regular on the blog is because I have joined artistic yoga by Bharat Thakur. Now, don't ask me how they were in the starting because I was literally dead in the first week :D Second week was scary as well but a little less scary!!

Now, third week has commenced and I was down on Tuesday so I was in a dilemma to continue or not. Anyways, that's for another post. I wanted to join some activity which would keep me healthy and help me test my body limits even more and this came.

Man, abs exercises are killing!!! Anyways, I want to just list down how my body has changed in the past few weeks. Btw, these classes are for an hour and only on the weekdays. They will end in January and I am tensed how will I keep up. Because, right now, the compulsion and community is working as a motivation.

      How my body changed?
      • I lost weight, of course!!
      • I have more energy, I am less tired and more active.
      • I am happier.
      • My body feels lighter.
      • I have surprised myself by doing some things which I never thought I could do.
      • I sleep really well.
      • I sleep early.
      • And, I am getting up in the morning at right time!! And, without feeling groggy or anything.
      • The best part is even now that I am down, I am finding that my periods time is going on a lot smoother.
      • Another great thing is that my PMS was literally non-existent!! Yes, there were mood swings but not as intense as past few months.
      • I am less stressed out and probably my productivity is better (not sure though)!
      • I am more positive in outlook and I have a positive aura.
      • Now, whether my skin is glowing or not, I don't really know!!
      • My blood circulation has definitely improved. I can feel more blood flowing in my head.
      • I am feeling more hungry, enjoying the taste of food and I am a lot less negative in outlook.
      • This is the first time I have ever joined such classes and that's one thing which has made me happy!
      • My head aches are a lot more in control now :)
      • My body is so much lighter!! I can find more agility in my body as well :)
These are a few things right now I have noticed in myself which is making me very reluctant to not continue the next month but, honestly, there are financial considerations as well so I am kind of double-minded about it. I will probably try out something else!!

PS: This post is written on 19th December, 2012.

Just Gossip Vol. 2 - The Big News!!

Ok, so, I wanted to share with you all a really amazing piece of news. My lifelong dream came true when I got this basic professional camera. Yes, I got 60D...yay!!! Well, yup, that was the second on my list after the LED and its the only luxury I wanted in my entire life.

Oh boy, its such an involved machine. The aperture and shutter speed settings apart, there are a hell lot of things I need to learn. Whew! I hope I can make it to the photo walk there is in January. And, honestly, right now I am kind of overwhelmed.

I am trying to learn the ins and outs of the product and hope to get my hands real smooth on it soon. In fact, I am going to attend a colleague's wedding in January so was thinking of taking my camera there but I hope the guests over there don't mistake me for a photographer :D

This is my biggest moment in 2012 :) And, leaving you all with the best wishes for Christmas.

Just Gossip Vol. 1 - Milestones This Year and Blogging Round Up of 2012!

Since we have almost reached the end of 2012, I thought it would be a good time to do an entire round up this year on the blogging part of my life. Did you know I am about to complete 1000 posts!! Its like 20 short of it last time I checked. Whoa!!

Now, this year, I have been very much consistent, my most slacking month being December itself. I have written around 396 posts and would cross 400 by the end of the year...wooohoo!! Now, that was a milestone.

And, I have maintained the monthly hair journal which I shall keep on continuing till the blog exists or further notification, which ever is earlier ;D In fact, I might be coming up with more of such series as well. Let's see.

Now, one thing I noticed that in December, I felt quite burnt out. So, to keep the pressure of blogging down, I have decided that I shall blog only on the weekdays and the blog is gonna enjoy weekend off too :)

I might post anything on weekends but officially, I wouldn't post on Sat and Sun. That would definitely save me a lot of work and I can enjoy some off's as well :) But, my resolution to blog regularly stays on.

What other resolutions for the new year?? Well, I haven't yet thought about them. I don't really like making resolutions but yup, there would be some good news(es) coming hopefully by the start of the year. I am looking forward to a very huge buy this year end or next year start so all the best to me :)

And, thank you to all my lovely readers for all the support and love. Ok, you might also be wondering that I had said four loyal readers would get lucky this month. Well, I have postponed that idea. The reason being this month was cramped up with too many giveaways and I would like things to be a bit spread out so keep expecting good things :)

So, that was the gossip this time :)

      5 Things to consider before conceiving a Baby {Pregnancy}

5 things to consider before conceiving a baby

So, today, I have come up with something very different to what I used to discuss with all of you. This is for all those females who are ready for conception or even in half way through their confinement. So, lets us see what all we have on the list!!

      Physical Fitness

The first thing to ascertain is that you both are physically well to conceive a new life. You should consult a doctor and get genetic carrier screening to make sure you do not suffer from any of the hereditary issues which can be carried to the baby as well. This is especially important for a mother.

Also, another specialist you should consider visiting is a dentist. Yup, your undetected gum problems and bad oral health can cause miscarriage!! In fact, it is said that a good oral routine during the pregnancy alone prevents a lot of miscarriages!!

A doctor consultation also helps decode what medicines you might be taking and whether they should be taken or not!! And, a pre-check up is also informative about the proper dates of conception and what all other things should be kept in mind medically!!

5 things to consider before conceiving a baby

      Healthy Lifestyle

Howsoever you might be leading a healthy or a hectic or a stressful life, you do not ever want your kid to enter the world in those circumstances. So, it is a good time to get onto the healthy schedule which you have forever been procastinating!
      • Getting up early in the morning
      • Skipping on the junk food and actually consuming regular HEALTHY meals all through the day
      • Not stressing about anything in particular
      • Exercising everyday or at least 3 times a day
      • Controlling weight
      • Cutting back on the caffeine
      • Going to bed early
So, these are just few things which should be on your list. Btw, I would like to again stress on being back in shape and bringing your weight under control. For one, if you are overweight it puts extra stress on your spinal cord and you might get prone to backaches after your delivery. And, secondly, coming back into shape is easier if you are healthier before!

#DidYouKnow you should not gain more than 9kgs during child bearing!!

      Financial Well-being

This is in conjunction to the earlier point. You will be obviously less stressed when you do not have to think about money. So, get over your money troubles way before thinking of a baby. You would want to provide every possible luxury to them, as much as you can afford!!

But, overspending or not being able to buy their basic needs definitely come under the not-being-financially-sound for a baby. So, do have considerable savings and be able to plan for at least next two years of budget including all the baby things which are very expensive now a days!! And, do not forget the vacations.

Some people do think of too much like getting a house and a car and a good career and so delay the baby process. But, I would like to mention here that too much of a delay is not really good for either the baby or the parents and the car and career and your house can be accommodated along with the baby.

When I am talking about finance, I just mean a well-settled life and having enough to spend on your family without feeling the pinch! Not waiting for your entire life to get into order. There is no perfect time for such things!!

5 things to consider before conceiving a baby

      Emotional Well-being

Now, that we have physical fitness and finances taken care of, the couple that is you both must be emotionally ready to take charge of a new life among you both. Get rid of all the family issues you might have with your extended family, among yourselves and other things.

And, if they are unavoidable, stop creating a negative environment and stressing yourself about them. I know it is not as easy to do as to write about it but I can just say that being positive and happy is the only solution to that problem. And, both you and your spouse must be happy and accept the situation as they are. Either of you cribbing will not help!!

      Environment

So, now that you are probably entirely ready, I would say consider the environment in which you would want to bring up your kid. For example, you might not be staying in the most ideal location.

Or, you have been thinking of moving to a safer and a place where there are a lot of kids or may be closer to a school or a play school. It is better to make such decisions beforehand because last minute shifting and things might not be really possible. Similarly, have a doctor closer at hand as well. Or, a hospital.

These are just a few things which I can come up with right now which you should consider before conceiving. Now, it is your turn. What do you think are some of the things which must be considered? What have you considered, if you are already pregnant or have a baby? How did you pre-conception time come about?

Blogging Series Vol. 1 - Giveaway Condemnations!!

Ok, so, a few days back, Just Herbs giveaway had started and I had made it imperative that only one person can enter using a single computer. Rafflecopter form stores the IP address and I have found out in the previous giveaways that many people were sending multiple entries using multiple email ids!

Now, as bloggers, we have to be careful to avoid bogus entries. Then, I received this comment from one of the readers:
hey, u must understand not all ppl can afford to hv individual pcs.
a group of friends can share a net connction to save costs. its sad u r into this kind of censorship.
anyways, ur opinion. the unsubscribe button is open to us as well.
Well, I do accept that not everyone has that luxury so in such a case, please link your email ids to valid facebook profiles of yours and send me friend requests so that I can check for the validity in case you turn out to be the winner. Please note that any doubtful looking facebook profile would not be considered.

Another thing which disappointed me gravely was mentioning the option of unsubscription. Well, I am not forcing you to read my blog. Giveaways are a token of appreciation to my readers and even the sponsored giveaways do not exactly come without a little bit of work.

I am really sorry if I sound rude but this is an issue which I guess almost every blogger faces. The thing which resulted in this venting post was the mention of unsubsciption. I am not forcing you to subscribe either. Please feel free to venture out if you are not interested but I have to keep some rules to make sure only genuine people win!!

Its Just Life Vol. 2 - One-month already?

How can life be so cruel to me? I have forever thought that being married would be a totally different experience and here I am often forgetting that I am married! When people say your husband, I look at them blankly!!

Going to any party or function feels like I have landed back in time when I used to accompany my parents to a place full of unknown people and I was always so awkward! The only difference is now its minus parents. In fact, my married life feels like a live-in with a friend with parental consent :D

And, here I am with one month already over!! Gosh, how did I even land up here and especially since last 20 days have so trying on me with me being lifted and thrown into some other dimension of the universe. I have to concede here that now I understand why girls should be married off early. Being used to staying alone does complicate the situations further.

Nah, if you are thinking something major unhappy events have occurred, nothing of the sort. Only that I have been thrown in a phase of perpetual confusion where I am totally wandering down in a storm. My friends are all saying that I am thinking too much and I should only enjoy the moment.

But, I am somehow not able to achieve that euphoria associated with new brides. Its like I am just waiting for something to happen and then I will be happy but happiness never really comes that way!! You have to be happy no matter what and then wait for the better to happen, right?

Is any of you going through the same phase as mine? Can you relate to my confusions? Any advise would be welcome :)

      Hiya, I am back!!
      Scheduled Post!

Loving It / Using It Vol. 15 - 5 Ways to Use the Dettol Multi-Use Wipes

5 Ways to Use the #Dettol Multi-Use Wipes product reviews

When I was younger, I always used to wonder what would keep my mom inside the kitchen or around the house for hours together. Her work never seemed to get done. Being a house-maker myself now, I realize how diligently she did all her work and how negligently I carry on!!

Probably the dusting and cleaning and wiping are the most arduous and time taking tasks though they do not even come on our lists of TO-DO things! At least for me, they are. Because I hate water spilled around the wash basins or the hard water stains all around the house.

So, when Dettol sent me these multi-use wipes, that was the first thing I tried them on. The wiping. And, to think of it, I never really thought of using the wipes in this way. So, I did give them a try so let us see what all can we do with these wipes.

Loving It / Using It : Loving It

5 Ways to Use the #Dettol Multi-Use Wipes product reviews

      Hard Water Stains

Having a hard time getting rid of Hard Water stains? I love wiping the area clean after washing (near wash basins or sinks) with these wipes. For more economical usage, you can use it after the day is over to keep it fresh for the next day!!

      Around the Kitchen

Whenever I do a complete cleaning of my kitchen, I have a hoard of arsenal as if going to war - a mug full of water, a dry rag, a wet rag, either a cleaning liquid or vinegar solution. But, no need of them anymore.

Wipe off the microwave or the fridge surfaces or the platform or your gas stove with these wipes. Also, the cupboards can be swiped off with them. Once a day wiping is enough unless you are hosting a party or something!!

5 Ways to Use the #Dettol Multi-Use Wipes product reviews

      In the Bathroom

Ok, when you share the toilet with your family members, the toilet seats need to be wiped off for the next member to use with out the eeks factor! And, I personally do prefer the dry bathrooms so using water all time is really not possible. These wipes can be used for that purpose as well. And, similarly for the wash basin and the other surfaces and not to forget the tiles and the mirrors.

      Wiping off the Dining Table

This is one of the most easy tasks. I hate cleaning the dining table after meals but this makes it so damn easy and no need of any cleaning liquid either and the glass (my dining table is all glass) is all clean and the spills and other stains get wiped off in a jiffy. This works as well for wood because you should not use water on it lest it gets spoiled.

5 Ways to Use the #Dettol Multi-Use Wipes product reviews

      And, then, the cosmetic usage

Well, it is a perfect travel partner. No water, use this. You can use it as a face wipe, a makeup remover, clean hands during travels, keep yourself safe in the public toilets and what not?

So, what do you say? Did you ever think that wipes can be used in so many ways and that too for house cleaning purposes? Do share your tips!!

      Should you do exercise when mensturating? {Women Stuff}

Ok, I would like to be convinced why we should not exercise if we are menstruating. I did a google search on this topic and I found no particular link saying you should really rest IF you do not suffer from major cramps or heavy bleeding.

Caution: This is only for those who do not have heavy bleeding or suffer badly during those days of the month!! Please do not exercise if you have heavy PMS or mensuration. All you can do is walk in such a case.

So, I do not really suffer from major issues during this time of the month. My blood flow is normal and I generally do not have anything major than leg pains and heavy feeling in the lower part of the body but that settles down if I rest properly.

When I did a google search, all I found was that you can walk, jog, run and even do Yoga during these days except for some of the inverted poses in the Yoga and even swim. Pranayam is specifically recommended for relaxation. Also, one can do Suryanamaskar or stretches or such exercises which do not involves stomach strains or back strain.

But, still, when I went for my Yoga classes (yup, will write about them) today, my acquaintances said I should only rest for the first three days. Now, you would obviously be interested in knowing how I managed an hour of the class.

Honestly, it wasn't too bad. Some of the exercises I totally avoided because it was straining my back but I did do many Suranamaskars and other easy ones which were mostly stretches today. And, afterward, I was feeling pretty good. And, I didn't really push myself more.

My legs weren't heavy anymore. And, this is till now. I would check till tomorrow and let you know if I did really suffer anything major after having a good/bad night sleep :) And, please do convince me if I should really avoid exercising altogether keeping in mind my state of periods.

Any doctor's opinion would be welcome :) And, am I relying on internet more than necessary?

Just Gossip Vol. 24 - What's up with me these days?

Ok, so, I have been dying to blog but I seriously am so packed all the time that I do not have the energy to go home and pick up the laptop or the patience to struggle with my Xperia to type an entire post on it. Anyways, if you are thinking that I am handling all the chores of the house, nothing could be farther from truth. If I handle my stuff only, its more than enough.

10 years of independence does make you a lot lazy. I get up in the morning, get ready and have breakfast and leave for office. Then, go back home and have dinner and sleep or may be squeeze in washing clothes in between or a movie on weekends. The commute itself eats up around 2-3 hours everyday!! I am so missing staying close to my workplace.

      My Beauty Woes
Ok, this might feel like ranting or complaining but I have hardly got anytime to take care of myself. I have hardly used any sunscreen since the wedding time. My scalp itches like crazy. I feel like pulling my hair out and yesterday I went for oiling and blow dry and the lady told me I have dandruff. I was like F..K!! I have no idea how to deal with. Should start with vinegar thing I always talk about. And, hair has become dry thanks to winters as well. And, I have not exfoliated my skin since like EVER. I hardly apply any moisturizer. I have to go to parlor but have no time since I prefer the parlor near my workplace. My entire routine is haywire. I seriously need to get back on track. Please do not mind my rantings but writing down helps me keep a track of what all I need to do.

      Other Things
I have not blogged since Eternity. Imagine its been a month almost (ok, a month is tomorrow) and we have not yet sorted out the photographs we like for the wedding album. The honeymoon snaps are lying in the memory card since then. Have to see them as well. Gosh so many things to finish. And, I have not washed my clothes since almost a week!! Me piling clothes is an alien concept.

And, here I had expected married life would agree with me. Right now I am really feeling like living in a transit period :D I do not even feel like I am newly married. How come some people feel the same even after an year or two, I wonder :( Wish I knew the secret :| Ok, I do promise I will come up with a happy post soon so please do not get bogged down by the rants :D

And, in the meantime, why don't you tell me how you have been doing?

      Motivations for Weight Loss {Health}

So, what do you think are the best motivations for losing weight. Yes, marriage or engagement can be one of the biggest motivations. Another motivator is bad health. But, what about those lazy people who can't seem to haul their butt off the couch and do some exercise.

Trust me, I belong to that particular set of people. So, I thought may be this post would be useful where I would like to put down some, may be, very obvious points regarding the strength of motivations.

      Money
Yup, joining an exorbitantly high priced place can become a big motivator!! Yes, there are a few hiccups. Is the place or activity worth that cost? Ok, after I pay, what if I get bored? Worse still, what if I am not able to handle the exercise regime? Or, even worse, what if I am so lazy that money doesn't stay any more in my priority list? Well, honestly, I don't really have answers for it.

      Variations
If you join an exercise regime which is different every day, that can act as a huge instigator for the exercise regime. Because, you tend to think what you are gonna expect today. Unpredictability is the probably the best motivator for anything in life. Life itself is like that!!

      Determination
Ya, I know its obvious. But, sometimes, a person may not be determined to lose weight but a person may be determined to push themselves more to learn new things. Wanting to push the limits of your own body is, often, a puzzle for a human so may be wanting to do things one has never been able to do might act as a motivation.

      Healthy Comparisons
Honestly, I am against comparing yourself or thinking negatively but there is another perspective to this attitude. You might be competitive but competition pushes you further in a positive way, you might hold comparison with another in a healthy way to help yourself be better than yourself only.

Well, those are the motivations which I think work!! What do you think? Do you think there is any other powerful motivator to lose weight?

      Top 5 Reasons which could be Causing your Headaches {Health}

      Tags : Home >> Health

If you have been a regular on this blog, you would know by now that I am a regular victim of bad headaches which do convert into migraines!! That is the reason why I am always looking into articles which decode more and more reasons of headaches. So, let me share with you what all I found this time.

      Toxins in your system

So, have you been binging lately? Or, not really taking care of your health? Or, a lot of junk food and no exercise or skimping on your sleep or drinking or smoking or taking caffeine and processed foods? Or, being unhealthy in the most possible ways. Then, it is time for a detox. Because, the toxins in your system can wreak havoc and headache is just one of them!!
The major cause of both tension headaches and migraines is the retention of toxins or tissue irritants within the central nervous system. These chemical irritants may cause an over-sensitivity of nerve tissues to other stimuli [Source].

      #DidYouKnow Improper Breathing can also cause #headache and #migraine!! http://goo.gl/a4X4Si via @skyiseternal #perfectskincareforyou
[Click to Tweet This!] Twitter Icon

      Inadequate Breathing

Yup, this is one of the most common reasons for a headache!! We do not breathe properly, as in like the babies do. Fill the oxygen in the tummy rather than the chest. And, that is most often the reason why we are oxygen deprived. And, our organs need proper supply of oxygen to work properly. When the oxygen levels fall in the body, cluster headaches can be one of the results.

Also, remember that deep breathing is necessary at all times. For example, when you are sitting, body tends to breathe shallow. Similarly, yawning is one of the symptoms which indicate lack of oxygen in the body. Other symptoms are morning headaches, being tired all the time and not feeling like working.

      Lack of Protein

Did you know that a vegetarian diet is actually deficient in protein unless you are getting it from supplements. And, it is not necessary that supplements make up for it. Headache is one of the causes of lack of protein. So, is skipping meals. So, avoid both of them. But, beware!! Eating lot of animal meat can give you proteins but equally result in chronic migraines. So, a balanced diet is the answer to this riddle!!

      Anemia and Lack of B-12

B-12 is also called cyanocobalamin. And, lack of B-12 happens because of anemia. B-12 is responsible for our DNA and red blood cells. Due to anemia, RBC's count is lower than required which is why it can result in fatigue and headaches. Also, B-12 helps the body absorb folic acid which results in release of energy.

      Lack of Vitamin D

Vitamin D deficiency has become much prevalent now a days. And, as I have discussed many times earlier as well, lack of Vitamin D causes loss of energy levels and increases fatigue in the body. It also results in chronic headaches and sleep disorders.

      And, now the bonus tip:

      Lack of Water

I think I have already discussed this in one the previous posts that dehydrated body also gets prone to headaches. So, next time, you get a headache, drink up a glass of water and preferably hot water so as to give a soothing effect to the body.

Now, you know what to do next time you get a headache - drink up water or get a bit of food into your system or detox yourself!!

Now, its your turn! Do you suffer from chronic headaches? Do you rely on the medicines or try to bear it out? Or, have you figured out a trigger for your headaches? Do tell me if you know of any other causes for headaches. Waiting to hear from you...

Loving It / Using It Vol. 14 - Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Hair Repair Treatment for all hair types

Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Hair Repair Treatment for all hair types product review

So, Argan is the latest fad in the beauty industry, right? Every skin care products, every anti-aging formulation, every dry hair issue has answer in argan oil. I had been long thinking about getting one bottle of myself but I had so many other products to finish off before that and voila, a products lands on my door step.

This is Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil. Does Morocco not sound very exotic? In fact, long time back, I had one reader, Karima, from Morocco who was in regular touch with me. It has been long since I have heard from her but if I ever do, the only thing I would ask her is to bring me dozens of argan oil bottles from there :D She once said Moroccan Argan Oil is the best and original and amazing for everything!!

Hey Karima, if you are reading this, would love to hear from you :)

And, so, I am here today with something hopefully almost as original as it can get. Honestly, reviewing it is a real challenge because I have no idea how authentic argan oil smells or feels. I just know that argan oil is very thick in consistency but it smells a little sweet and I am not really sure if I like it!! Anyways, lets get started.

Loving It / Using It : Using It

Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Hair Repair Treatment for all hair types product review

      • Price: 43$ for 50ml
      • Smell: It has a faint fragrance smell which does not linger for long nor affects the nose!
      • Packaging: Comes in a dark amber colored bottle with a dropper! Btw, real argan oil breaks down on exposure to light so real ones come in dark bottles. Dropper screws on tightly so travel-friendly as well.
      • Ingredients: Well, it does not say anything about the ingredients on the packaging but in the website, it mentions Special Ingredients -100% Argania spinosa kernel oil (Pure Argan Oil), Hydro Cordium: Vegetable based amino protein (strengthener), Purely Natural Plant Control-oil: Supplies hair nutrients and provides a protection layer, Multiple Tartaric Acid Complexes: Facilitate cell rejuvenation. So, I have no idea what to make of it. As far as I have read about real argan oil, it should have only 100% Argania spinosa kernel oil mentioned on the packaging.
      • Texture: The product is thick and does feel a bit sticky after applying the product.
      • Quantity: Just one drop is enough for a shoulder length fine hair. A bit more and hair might feel weighed down. So, the product would last reallyyyy long which makes the worth a bit justified!!
      • Results. So, any leave-in should be applied on just a teensy-bit damp hair. So, same goes for this. Just the right amount makes the hair extremely tangle-free and soft. In the starting when I was using it, I thought it was making the hair a bit rough. But, later on, the results changed. So, the results also depend on what shampoo and conditioner you are using. But, yes, it would not nourish your hair or make it super shiny. Because, I felt it just sits on hair instead of nourishing it. My splits returned even after the hair cut! And, dry Hair needs something else before applying this like some aloevera gel or a drop of oil. But, it does control frizz. Now whether it ends up causing product build-up is something I can not comment on!!

Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Hair Repair Treatment for all hair types product review

      Overall Verdict

So, yes, this product is worth a try because it might work out amazing on some kinds of hair as well. Also, it should not be applied on scalp, only on hair length.

Have you heard about the product? Would you like to Argan oil on your hair?

      Red Wine + Honey Skin Facial {DIY}

Red Wine + Honey Skin Facial DIY

I have always wondered how it would be to apply exotic ingredients to skin. But, always fail to experience it when it really comes to them. Because I love to eat those fruits than apply them on the face! So, when it came to using red wine, I made sure that I would experience it. So, let us check out how this DIY turned out!!

Before that, lets talk a bit about red wine. We know it is made from grapes which are basically acidic and rich in Vitamin C and loaded with anti-oxidants. So, the wine, Refosco dal Peduncolo Russo (every wine has its own properties), we have today is quite deep in color and high in acidity. Since it is highly acidic, it is good for acne prone skin and drying as well. So, let us check out how it fares for us.

Red Wine + Honey Skin Facial DIY

      Ingredients

      • 1tbsp red wine
      • 1tbsp honey (to combat dryness)

        Method

        • Wash your face. Scrub it, if necessary. Steam your face, neck and décolletage for 5 minutes to open the pores.
        • Take the mixture of wine and honey and massage your face with it the way it is done during a facial. You can get your sister or best friend to do it as well!!
        • Since there is honey, the mix tends to get sticky so keep the steamer on in the interims so that the liquid gets penetrated into the skin and does not dry up.
        • Keep massaging for 30 minutes in this way. Cover your neck and décolletage as well. Do not forget your ears and lips!!
        • You can wash it off immediately or let it sit on your skin for as long as you can as a mask. Whatever you do, wash off with cold water and apply moisturiser.

        Results

There would not be an immediate glow on the face! But, the skin definitely looks plumpier and firmer. And, it helps with making the skin soft and smooth. The lines are less visible. Basically, you can say the anti-aging effects of the red wine shows up. And, the glow comes later on. So, I loved it and now it is your turn!

Have you ever tried red wine DIY? How did you like it? Or, would you like to try it out?
