Just Gossip Vol. 37 - Some movie mentions!!

This long vacation has been pretty much a movie binging time. I have lost track of all the sitcoms I used to check out which were due to begin in October. Anyways, I shall do that once I get rid of hubby darling!! Gosh, having them home at all times is so time-consuming, dontchya think? :D

Finding Fanny

I could actually want the movie to be lost. Unless I am being too dumb or sarcastic, I am not one of the intelligent crowd for which the movie was made!! But, Dimple Kapadia stands out and the famous Pankaj Kapur painting of her was a hilarious and poignant sequence in the movie which deserves a mention.

Daawat-e-Ishq

Just now, I am watching it in the television. It has barely been a month since it has released and its already on the small screen.

Anyways, it has received many bad reviews but I really liked the movie. It is a cute small love story unless we sit and analyze the goods and bads.

Arjun Roy Kapoor stands out again, even better than Parineeti, and that was the USP of the film for me. And, loved the Meri Mannat tu song. I missed Khoobsurat.

Haider

Ummm...I am really not sure what to say about the movie. It was amazing. As usual Tabu, Kay Kay and Irfan Khan killed it!! Shahid was also good and loved how subtly the oedipus complex was depicted. But, I am still not sure of my own opinion about the movie. Though, the landscape and depiction of Kashmir is beyond words.

Happy New Year

A medley of all the movies! Deepika looks hot in the Lovely song but no other words for it!!

Telugu Movies

Well, do not take my words for telugu movies because I do not connect with them and unless they are reallyy good.

Oka Laila Kosam

I do not know why Naga Chaitanya even clicks. He is so unlike his father in terms of charm and looks but still whatever the case be, I was unimpressed with the movie. The heroine was made to look like Shruti Hassan which was sad.

Karthikeya

It is a thriller and I would say a decent one at that!! Not a big star cast or a long film, it could have been more crisper with better editing.

And, now, I am facing the adrenalin rush!! Yeah, actually, I took out our car for the first time and I almost banged it up badly TWICE!! And, ended up parking it almost into the pillar. Have called up my hubby's cousin (does that make him my cousin?) to rectify the mistake before anyone comes to know of it :D

How was your first car driving experience ALONE?

Just Gossip Vol. 22 - Did you "Get on the Train baby"?

So, I watched Chennai Express on Saturday. And, I have to say that it was totally unexpected. I had gone into the theater with a sense of foreboding and I was so sure I would come back with a headache and the reviews were not of much help!

But, I loved the movie except that romance angle which is totally boring, honestly! Yeah, that from King Khan, the king of Romance. The movie belong to Deepika entirely, in my opinion. Totally loved the cinematography and the Thaliva song. That's a treat to watch coz Deepika is looking at her best :)

And, what else I loved. I loved her half-sarees in the movie. They were simple and really pretty. Of course, she has a figure which can show everything well but still. So, just check them out here.  The pics are blurry but still you can make out some of the dresses.

So, did you guys watch the movie? Did you like it?

Just Gossip Vol. 31 - Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall!!

Not exactly a review but we watched Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya yesterday and I had to talk about it. It has been quite sometime since some decent movies have come.

Ek Villian was a huge disappointment. In fact, we went for a night show and movie had been running for 40 minutes and the screen disappears. I am assuming that the movie tape was corrupted. And, we were so relieved. It was a damn boring 40 min!!

Bobby Jasoos. I have to say that the trailers were quite interesting and since I am not getting any movie bites on television or youtube, I rely only on the first impressions of the movie. And, this was definitely on my list because of Vidya Balan. And, she was damn good. In fact, we loved the movie except for its cliched ending for about 10 min. A fun and light-hearted film and of course, don't expect much.

Humpty ..... Dulhaniya. I am not sure if I loved it. But, I enjoyed it and the only reason why I enjoyed it was Varun Dhawan. His cute puppy look face and what will happen with him is what will keep you to the seats. Alia Bhatt is as usual spunky and she is more a Punjabi character than a Tamilian (portrayed in 2 States). SOTY seems to be a bad first movie for either of the actors. It was more of glitz than content.

And, I am waiting for Finding Fanny and there is this one movie on food. Not Chef. It has Om Puri and Helen Miller and the story revolves around a restaurant and an Indian Michelin Star Chef learning cooking from Miller. The movie was supposed to hit theaters in July. Not sure when it will come!!

What about you? Did you like the movies?

Just Gossip Vol. 13 - Do you watch movies on weekdays?

Watching a movie late into the night on a weekday is amazingly invigorating when you are totally stressed out from daily routines. Me and my friend had tried it a few weeks back with Pyar ka Panchnama. Even though we had seen the movie earlier, we laughed into fits while watching it again!!

And, then, I watched Nautanki Saala on Thursday night!! Few scenes were damn funny, btw! But, the girl was so dumb. I mean seriously how can any guy fall for such a brainless hotness!! I mean I did not really expect something so dumb from Ayushmaan Khurana :(

The part where the destructive Mandar climbs few stories to Nandini's house was fun when compared to the sneaky-ness of RP. But, the chemistry between the lead pairs is really off (I can't even find a word for the disaster it is!).

The girl doesn't even know how to act or express and the guy is hopelessly helpless. Even the most romantic scenes were bereft of anything except the physical exhibitions.

Anyways, you talk about your experiences. Have you tried a night show on the weekday? Does it help you cope with stress? Well, if you are a hostelite and studying, this would be a regular routine, I hope! If not, you seriously need to try it :D

Weekend Gossip Vol. 8 - Was it really Ek Thi Daayan?

I am a really big darpok!! Anything remotely psychological or horror makes me run away from the place and close my eyes tightly! But, then, some very interesting kind of scary movies spook my interest. One such was the trailer of this movie.

Have to say that its first half is really really amazing! I closed my eyes many times and missed a lot of scenes. The kids were amazing and there is a baby girl in the movie who is just beautiful :) And, kudos to Konkona. She is such an amazing and flawless actor.

Yes, the best part of the movie is just her. And, if you have searched for the reviews of the movie online, they are all correct. The first half of the movie is spooky and its a downhill after that! The climax is said to be amazing at many places but honestly it falls flat on the face.

It is just predictable and hilarious!! Some of the action scenes are borrowed from chinese flicks and some from True Blood. Nothing was remotely scary and in fact you end up gritting your teeth for some action.

But, have to watch the movie for the first half and Konkona. That is gonna be in your mind for a long time even after coming out of the movie. She looks beautiful and her eyes are so expressive; overall a deliciously thrilling package.

Oh, I forgot to mention about the soundtrack. Don't miss the song which plays during the credits in the starting of the movie. And, then, there is Kaali Kaali Aankhon ka Kaala Kaala Jadoo Hai which gets on your lips by the end. And, then, there is a really haunting background score specially associated with Daayans.

Just Gossip Vol. 10 - Whats up?

I am getting so tired these days and life is not exactly moving smoothly so lets just say I am not having ball of a time :D Anyways, dad's coming tomorrow so I am gonna be busy this weekend and I shall hopefully have amazing food!!

Oh btw, I saw Kai po che last weekend. Have you seen it yet? I would say that I am not really a fan of Chetan Bhagat but I loved five point someone at a point of time. But, 3 mistakes of my life doesn't make to my favorite reads. But, I would still recommend you to check out this movie, if you missed it. The performances are commendable! And, just for that you should see. And, yes, its a total copy of the book but the climax is twisted!! I didn't like the climax :(

And, what are your plans for the weekend? Oh ya, one more thing is I have bought soapnuts again last weekend along with lot of other things and tried it out on Wednesday. Honestly, I shall probably never learn how to really use it :( I did not apply any oil but even then there was no lather! Can anyone of you please share a procedure which you have tried and which actually works! Also, can you lemme also know if it works on well-oiled hair as well?? Someone had left a huge comment describing how she uses soapnuts sometime back but I totally forgot where it was. I shall search it for sure.

So, see ya :) And, yeah, there might not be a post on Monday!

Weekend Gossip Vol. 1 - Inkaar - Sexual Harassment or play of Emotions?

*May have spoilers*

I watched Inkaar yesterday evening. Movie is around 2 hours long. To start with, I totally love Arjun Rampal and Chitrangda Singh for their acting skills, looks don't really lag behind either in my like list. The lady is really hot.

And, the promos show that the movie is about sexual harassment. Honestly, it didn't really feel so. Yes, there was corporate politics and other issues but the basic premise of the movie was emotions and perspectives and how things look different to different genders.

The movie starts with the case itself and the flashbacks go on but they are unobtrusive and take you very gently into the lives of the protagonists. You can feel the pain of a scorned love and you can also feel the helplessness of unnamed relationships.

You would enjoy every second of the movie. The cinematography is satisfying and editing is crisp. Could have done some bits even more tighter but I am not exactly complaining. The best part of the movie for me was the climax which was very apt and could have been NOT A BIT better.

Ok, let me talk about looks a bit. The lady is looking super hot in all scenes as usual and I like her hair styles in it. The dude is, as usual, suave and debonair. Also, in the movie, something which you should not miss are the backgrounds of the scenes. They have most hilarious and quirky quotes on the walls, especially, in the toilets :D

Have you watched the movie? Do share your thoughts and reviews on the movie :)
